Project 2009

Cultural ambassadors Ernest, Obuobi, and Nii Anang traveled from Ghana, 
West Africa to Kauai, Hawaii to exchange indigenous music and dance.

The guest artists studied Hula with Kumu Jessi Jardin.
Kokee:  Jessi taught hula implement making

Aloha Africa brought African drumming, rhythm, singing, 
and dance to Hanalei and other schools around Kauai.

Drumming Classes with Ernest Borketey

Thanks to a generous grant from the Stephen Stills Foundation, 
every child in Hanalei School attended drum classes with Ernest, 
assisted by Love Tribe member Rachel.


Ernest performed all around the island with Love Tribe.
